National Showcase 2024

2024 National Showcase was held in San José, CA from August 6th to August 10th. Sarah's impressive performances earned her 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals. Her name was mentioned in U.S. Figure Skate Website for Parade of Champions Theme Event as a highest scorer in Artistic Performance and earned her second place among all the theme event champions. We were so proud of her as a dedicated skater who loves to perform and always has a lot of fun doing it.

Sarah's first gold medal was for Open Juvenile Theme Event. Everyone except for Sarah skated to Taylor Swift songs. She took a risk with medley of Pitbull songs and the audience really enjoyed it. Her out-of-the-box thinking paid off and earned her the second place in the Parade of Champions Theme Event.

Sarah won the second place in Open Juvenile Comedic Impressions . She and her coaches, Nancy and Marni put this together in a month without any trial on ice.

Sarah didn't have a lot of time preparing for her Inflatables routine, she kept the same song from last year but changed the costume and choreography.

Sarah's Sky rink senior team event got canceled this year due to not having enough participants so Sarah joined the junior team and together they won the second place in Silver Mini Production against other strong teams.

There is a big Asian community in San José, CA. We went to the biggest H-Mart that carries Korean groceries and food . Pom and Tiffany came from Fresno to visit us and see Sarah perform. We had the best Vietnamese crepe and iced coffee with Pom, Tiffany, Tiffany's sister and her husband.

We had dinner with other parents, coaches and kids as well. Sarah's friend Liz was on the trip with us competing her first National Showcase. We went to IN-N-OUT burger the first day we arrived in San José. We also went to a local Mexican restaurant where Sarah and Liz had fun singing karaoke.
