A lot happening in between September and October this year. We had a very hot and humid summer and the fall started early. The air switched from a warm summer day to a cool and breezy day overnight. Fall marked back to school for Sarah, series of long runs for NYC marathon on November 6th, a lot of rain, less traffic from and to the city, a lot to celebrate: Grace and Paul's 20 year wedding anniversary, Dawit's 51st birthday on October 7th, Brendan and Daisuke welcomed their baby girl, Naomi on October 2nd, 10:16pm). Tony came with Brenton for their camping in the wood.
We reconnected and had dinner with Aidan and also had a wonderful meal hosted by Alex and Senina.
It has been such an amazing end of summer and beginning of fall. We are already thinking of celebrating Thanksgiving in Florida with David's family. All I can say is WOW! the good time really fly.
We've been running with Dawit doing spring races into summer and fall training for the NYC marathon, David won't be running this year but next year.
Paul and Grace's anniversary at Per Se was amazing, congratulations on their 20 years milestones and hope a lot more happy years to come
Dawit's turned 51 on October 7th and he is still looking fabulous with energy of a 16 year old. Dinner at his place was so wonderful joined with Tsedeye, Pablo, Desta. Jen and Esther. My favorite dish was steamed crab with spicy Thai style sauce. I made a rainbow cookie cake for Dawit and it came out so moist and delicious.
Brendan and Diasuke were ecstatic with their new baby girl, Naomi. She was born on October 2nd at 10:16pm. Congratulations!!!! We can't wait to meet her in person when we have a chance to go visit them in Dallas, hopefully soon.
Tony and Brenton came upstate for a two night camping trip in the woods, it was so cold that weekend. They joined us for dinner on Saturday night and running on Sunday morning. We had a great time, David made both beef and pork ribs accompanied by homemade sourdough baguettes, stuffed jalapeño, tomatoes with berrata cheese and carrot cake.
The fall came a few weeks ago and it's so beautiful, perfect time for hiking and running.
It was nice seeing Aidan, he was back in NYC from Vancouver. We haven't see him since the end of 2019. We missed having him around the house, we have known him since Sarah was 5 years old. What an amazing guy! Hope to see him again soon before he leaves for Vancouver next summer.
Alex and Senina had us for dinner at their place. We haven't seen Senina since 2019, she traveled from Shanghai to visit Alex after travel restrictions eased. She made delicious beef dumplings and steamed fresh crabs. I haven't had fresh crabs since I visited Thailand 5 years ago. Met Alexandra, Alex's childhood friend from London. We had so much fun, thanks Alex for having us and Senina for a wonderful meal and company.
